WIRAD Research Degrees Training Seminars 2008-09

The Research Degrees Training Seminars are a series of sessions indended to help research students directly and practically with various aspects of their resesarch programme. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays between October 2008 and January 2009. Topics include:

• 28th October 2008: Designing a Successful PhD: Planning and the importance of your research question

• 4th November 2008: Creating a critical literature review

• 18th November 2008: The nature of research writing

• 25th November 2008: Documenting and reflecting upon visual practice

• 2nd December 2008: The role of theory in research

• 9th December 2008 Qualitative and quantitative reserch methods

• 16th December 2008: Case studies and field investigation

• 21st January 2009: Proposal writing workshop

• 28th January 2009: Research presentations
